Privacy Policy

Barefoot Homeschool (the "Site" or "Service") is operated by KlicPoint Media Solutions LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a Missouri limited liability company. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. We try to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Listing submissions. When you submit a program or claim an existing listing, we collect the information you enter (program name, address, description, your name and email, etc.) so we can review and publish it.
Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address, display name, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile information Google shares with us.
Corrections and reports. When you use "Report incorrect information," we store what you wrote, any source link, your email if you provide one, and a salted hash of your IP address for abuse prevention.
Contact messages. Your name, email, and message.
Email signups. If you join our notification list, we store your email address and optional zip code so we can email you about new programs.
Anonymized affiliate clicks. When you click a curriculum link we may record the destination, the page you came from, and a salted hash of your IP. We do not store raw IP addresses.
Aggregate analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy- friendly tool that does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.

How we use it

To operate the directory: review submissions, publish approved listings, act on corrections, and respond to claim requests.
To send you the emails you asked for and nothing else.
To prevent spam, abuse, and automated attacks (bot checks and rate limiting).
To understand which programs and curriculum families find useful, in aggregate.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for parents and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not offer accounts to children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email hello@barefoothomeschool.com and we will delete it. Please do not submit photos or details that identify a child without the written permission of their parent or guardian.

Data retention

Approved listings are kept indefinitely as part of the directory. Pending and rejected submissions are kept for up to 12 months. Correction reports and contact messages are kept for up to 24 months. Email signups are kept until you unsubscribe. Affiliate click logs are kept for up to 24 months.

Third parties

Lovable Cloud / Supabase — hosting, database, and authentication.
Cloudflare — CDN, edge runtime, and Turnstile bot protection.
Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly traffic analytics.
Google Maps — geocoding and map tiles for program locations.
Google Sign-In — optional account sign-in.
Resend — transactional email delivery.

We never sell your information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. See our do not sell or share page.

Cookies

Barefoot Homeschool does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use first-party storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls that restrict administrative data to authorized accounts. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent or opt out of marketing email at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@barefoothomeschool.com or use the contact form. We will respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for making a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change when we do, and material changes will be noted on the Site.
